油条 when you translate it word by word into english, it means oily stick. The dough is deep fried just like churros & donuts, but instead of being sweet, they are salty. Because of their unique crunchy & soft texture. They are unquestionably the most beloved breakfast in China. Definitely enjoy them when they are still fresh, I mean when they are just out of the frying pan. The old Chinese churros could get soggy or hard. But don't worry If they went old, my mum would just cut them smaller & deep fry them again. They would get fully crunchy inside out, almost like chips. They are very often used as filling for many different classic Chinese breakfast: wrap them with rice, with Chinese crepe, with steamed rice paper...
